March: Creativity Birchbox

Gosh, it’s already March. Time sure flies when you’re having fun, and so far, 2015 has been pretty damn good. I’m excelling professionally and personally, and creativity has a lot to do with my growth. One of the things I am doing more in 2015 is switching up my beauty routine. It sounds so simple, but a new lipstick, or a new mascara can do a lot for one’s self esteem. That’s why I love receiving a Birchbox every month. It fuels my creativity, and in many ways, boosts my perspective and self esteem. Every month, Birchbox has a theme, and this month’s theme is ‘Creativity’. I feel most creative when I open up I Sort of Beauty on my computer. I am able to write down anything I want and share it with you all. If you don’t already know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that is curated from your personal beauty profile. Each month, you receive 4-5 samples of deluxe size beauty products. Here are the products I received:

Belle of the Ball with Mirabella

I’m always looking for the quickest way to get ready in the morning. I used to live with a girl who would wake up 2 hours earlier just so she could do her hair and makeup. I think that’s absurd. But me? Fifteen minutes for makeup, and literally two minutes for my hair. No fuss. Just the way I like it.

It helps when there are products out there that make my mornings easier. I love using a little bit of bronzer and highlighter to brighten up my face. It’s the quickest way to get rid of sleepy, tired eyes without having to spend time going through my concealer options. This month, I’ve added Mirabella Beauty to my arsenal of on-the-go products.

photo 1Mirabella Beauty was established in 2002 by Christy Thurston, a makeup artist who hoped to introduce a brand that encompassed all aspects of beauty. It was designed to complete the salon beauty experience. But for women who can’t make it to the salon as often as they would like to, Mirabella products adds just the right touch at home.

Mirabella’s Mineral Highlighter is my favorite product from their line. Just a couple of brush strokes, and it instantly creates a dewy fresh look. That’s my go-to look in the morning. Quite frankly, anything but ‘tired’ is my go-to look in the morning. The mineral highlighter sparkles, but it is not shiny or overpowering. The powder is almost translucent so it would work great for all skin complexions. (Retail: $38)

photo 4I’m not a huge fan of eye shadows because I’ve always had a hard time finding the right brand. Either the color isn’t right, or the product never stays on. Earlier this month, I discovered that there is such a thing as long wearing eye shadow. I know, I am such a newb at this. Mirabella’s Long Wearing Eyeshadow is a creamy product that is almost sponge-like. According to the packaging, it” transforms into a powder finish that will not crease. Moisturizing and oil absorbing color perfection that lasts all day. Paraben-free, Talc-free. This versatile formula can be used on bare skin or layered over another eyeshadow.” (Retail: $29)

For me, the most important thing in the morning is making sure I get to work on time. Why not get there looking like a Belle of the ball with Mirabella Beauty?
