This month has been exceptionally difficult because of the big move. The late nights unpacking and body aches are all worth it now that we are finally settled. Here are some of the photos from inside our new apartment. Continue reading
Gosh, it’s already March. Time sure flies when you’re having fun, and so far, 2015 has been pretty damn good. I’m excelling professionally and personally, and creativity has a lot to do with my growth. One of the things I am doing more in 2015 is switching up my beauty routine. It sounds so simple, but a new lipstick, or a new mascara can do a lot for one’s self esteem. That’s why I love receiving a Birchbox every month. It fuels my creativity, and in many ways, boosts my perspective and self esteem. Every month, Birchbox has a theme, and this month’s theme is ‘Creativity’. I feel most creative when I open up I Sort of Beauty on my computer. I am able to write down anything I want and share it with you all. If you don’t already know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that is curated from your personal beauty profile. Each month, you receive 4-5 samples of deluxe size beauty products. Here are the products I received:
For me, blogging is just a hobby. I don’t get paid to do it. I do it on my own time, whenever I want. But for most of the people that I have come across, blogging is a job. It’s a full-time commitment that pays the bills and puts food on the table. Blogging can easily become a job through product review, advertising, and endorsements. This week, a “company” wanted to collaborate with me on I Sort of Beauty, and it didn’t take long for me to realize that it was a fake solicitor.
I’m naming the company because I would hope that this does not happen to anyone else. Two weeks ago, Tops Wedding reached out to me on email to ask me to collaborate with them. Here’s how it went:
I have not blogged in over a week but I have a very good reason. I have been in the process of moving into a new apartment with my boyfriend and puppy. The process took longer than it should have, but I’m happy to announce that the new place finally feels like home.
During the moving process, I neglected my skincare routine on multiple occasions. Admittedly, I was always too tired, or just did not care. I’ve noticed a huge change in my skin this month. Breakouts are a rarity, but I broke out a couple of times and am currently treating 3 blemishes. Eeeek!
This week, I finally started using my Japanese Konjac Sponge in Bamboo Charcoal. I love using sponges to cleanse my face because I find them to be super effective and hassle-free. According to the company:
The Japanese Konjac Sponge – Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Puff is excellent for sensitive, oily and acne prone skin. This facial cleansing puff is created by adding activated bamboo charcoal powder to the Konjac mixture. Bamboo charcoal is charcoal made from bamboo plants. In Japan, bamboo charcoal is used for food mixture, cosmetics, and medicines. Bamboo charcoal contains mineral contents such as potassium, calcium, iron and sodium. Combining with Konjac, the absorptive carbon of the bamboo charcoal eliminates oil, draws dirt and excess sebum out of pores which keep the skin clean and sparkle.
February has been a very busy month for me. With work, looking for a new apartment, and blogging, my Birchbox this month really made my February special. Seriously, it’s the little things – in every literal sense of the word ‘little’ ’cause it’s just samples. Still, I love my Birchbox! If you don’t already know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that is curated from your personal beauty profile. Each month, you receive 4-5 samples of deluxe size beauty products. This month, instead of letting Birchbox surprise me, I decided to go with the guest editor box made by Rent The Runway. Here are the products I received: Continue reading
